Frequently Asked Questions
1. What does a child psychologist do?
A child psychologist supports children and adolescents with emotional, behavioural, social, and learning challenges.
At Thriving Young Minds, we help young people better understand their thoughts, feelings, and behaviours, while also supporting families and schools with practical strategies.
2. When should I see a child psychologist?
You might consider seeking support if your child:
-
Is anxious, withdrawn, or frequently overwhelmed
-
Has difficulty managing big emotions or behaviours
-
Is struggling socially or academically
-
To explore and empower your child in their neurotype
-
Distress at school - experiencing 'School Can't'
-
Experiencing changes in mood, appetite or sleep
Early support can help build resilience and prevent difficulties from escalating.
